ELLEN JOY CASTILLO CHUAN is a 34-year-old married woman whose husband, also 34 years old, works as an auto mechanic. They are blessed with two children, aged 14 and 4. She is a resident of Sta. Maria, Pangasinan. Ellen Joy is the youngest among two brothers. Her 60-year-old mother is a housewife, while she has not seen her father since birth.

She completed her secondary education at Rosales National High School in 2009. She later pursued a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture but was only able to complete her first year of college due to financial difficulties. Determined to enhance her skills and pursue better employment opportunities, she enrolled in a Caregiving course and successfully earned her Caregiving Certificate in 2026.

After getting married in 2011, Ellen Joy devoted herself to caring for her children and managing her own household, gaining valuable hands-on experience in childcare and household management.

She later began her overseas employment as a domestic helper in Singapore from May 2015 to April 2017, where she worked for a Chinese family living in a five-room HDB flat consisting of three adults and a 70-year-old mobile elderly man. She was responsible for managing the daily household chores, including cleaning, laundry, ironing, grocery shopping, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the home. She also prepared and cooked daily meals for the family, ensuring that their household ran smoothly and efficiently.

Through both her personal and professional experience, Ellen Joy has become highly confident in caring for children of all ages, from newborns to school-aged children. She is experienced in bathing, feeding, changing diapers and clothes, preparing nutritious meals, accompanying children in their daily routines, supervising playtime, and supporting their learning and development in a safe and nurturing environment.

She is also capable of providing basic elderly assistance, particularly for mobile elderly individuals, by offering companionship, preparing meals, reminding them to take medications as instructed, and assisting them with their daily routines whenever needed. Her formal caregiving training has further enhanced her knowledge and skills in providing quality care.

In the kitchen, Ellen Joy is knowledgeable in preparing a variety of Filipino dishes as well as basic Chinese cuisine. She enjoys cooking, can easily follow recipe books, and is enthusiastic about learning new international dishes to meet her future employer's preferences.

Ellen Joy is described as hardworking, patient, honest, responsible, and eager to learn. She understands the importance of respecting her employer's household rules, maintaining confidentiality, and performing her duties with dedication and professionalism.

Upon selection, she will attend the mandatory OWWA Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) before the processing of her Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) for deployment.
