AUREA TAGALA REYES  is a 38-year-old married woman with a 39-year-old husband who works as a laborer and a 16-year-old son. She is a resident of Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City. She is the 3rd child among six siblings, with one brother and five sisters, including her twin sister. Her 64-year-old father is a farmer, while her 61-year-old mother is a housewife.

Aurea completed her secondary education at Kruz na Ligas National High School in 2008. In the same year, she pursued a Caregiving course and obtained her caregiving certification, giving her a foundation in providing proper care and assistance to elderly and dependent patients.

She has gained valuable experience in the healthcare and emergency-response field. She previously served as a volunteer Response Team Member in the Zamboanga Peninsula Disaster Response Team, where she was exposed to emergency situations and learned the importance of remaining calm, attentive, and responsive when assisting people in need. Since December 2025, she has been working as a Health Emergency Management Staff in a hospital, further strengthening her knowledge and practical experience in a healthcare environment.

Aurea has developed extensive hands-on experience as an elderly caregiver in the Philippines, caring for patients with different medical conditions and special care requirements.

PHILIPPINES – June 2010 to June 2014
She worked as a stay-out caregiver on a 12-hour shift for an 88-year-old Filipino-Chinese female elderly who was a stroke patient with a colostomy bag. Her responsibilities included bathing, feeding, changing clothes and diapers, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with prescribed medications. She continued caring for the elderly until her employment ended when the patient passed away.

PHILIPPINES – January 2013 to December 2016
She cared for a 73-year-old Filipino female who was a stroke and diabetic patient. She performed NGT feeding, blood sugar monitoring, grooming, medication assistance, and other daily personal-care activities. She continued her service until the elderly passed away.

PHILIPPINES – September 2017 to August 2019
She provided care for an 80-year-old Filipino male who was a stroke patient with a spine fracture and required a brace. Aurea assisted him with his daily needs and provided attentive care according to his condition until the elderly passed away.

PHILIPPINES – November 2023 to November 2025
She worked as a stay-out caregiver on a 12-hour shift for a 79-year-old Filipino female diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and COPD who later suffered a stroke. The patient required PEG-tube feeding and continuous CPAP support. Aurea provided hands-on assistance, personal care, monitoring, feeding support, and other daily caregiving needs until the elderly passed away.

Through her years of caregiving experience, Aurea has developed the ability to care for elderly patients with stroke, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, COPD, mobility limitations, and other complex care needs. She is familiar with personal hygiene, bathing, feeding, diaper changing, grooming, monitoring vital signs, blood sugar monitoring, NGT feeding, PEG-tube feeding, and assisting with medication routines as instructed.

Aurea considers caregiving more than just a job. Her experience caring for elderly patients has taught her to be patient, compassionate, attentive, responsible, and emotionally supportive. She understands that elderly patients require not only physical assistance but also companionship, respect, encouragement, and understanding.

She is also capable of preparing Filipino meals and is willing to learn other cuisines according to the patient's dietary requirements and the employer's preferences. She is willing to further improve her caregiving and domestic skills through additional training.

With her caregiving certification, extensive hands-on elderly-care experience, hospital exposure, and emergency-response background, Aurea is confident in her ability to provide safe, compassionate, and dependable care to elderly patients. She is particularly interested in continuing her career as a professional caregiver, where she can use her experience and continue developing her skills in caring for elderly and medically dependent patients.

Upon selection, Aurea will undergo a 1-week in-house private training in Manila at a TESDA-accredited training center to further enhance her caregiving, housekeeping, cooking, and childcare skills. She will also attend the required OWWA seminar and complete all necessary DMW overseas employment documentation and processing prior to deployment.
